Overview
Sikkim gives you Himalayan scale without Himalayan effort — the roads do the climbing. This week runs Gangtok for Tsomgo Lake and Rumtek, north to Lachung for the Yumthang valley, then west to Pelling for the closest views of Kanchenjunga and the old monastery at Pemayangtse. Permits for the north and for the Nathu La road are arranged for you; carry photo ID and passport-size photographs.
