Overview
Meghalaya is the trip people come back from with the best photographs. The double-decker living root bridge at Nongriat is a real descent — around 3,000 steps down and the same back up — and we build a full day around it. The rest of the week is gentler: the waterfall belt at Cherrapunji, the limestone caves, the boats that appear to float on air at Dawki, and Mawlynnong, which made its name as Asia's cleanest village.
