Jaisalmer, India
4 Days Jaisalmer: Golden City & Sam Sand Dunes

Overview
Jaisalmer Fort is one of the very few forts anywhere still lived in — several thousand people have homes inside the walls, which makes wandering it feel nothing like a museum. Around it sit the carved havelis built by nineteenth-century trading families, and an hour west the Thar opens into the Sam dunes. This short break gives you two full days in the city and its surroundings plus a night at a desert camp, and works well tacked on to any Jodhpur trip.
