8 Days Gujarat: Rann of Kutch, Somnath & Gir

Overview
Gujarat sits right next door to us and is still badly under-travelled. This loop takes in the three things that make it worth a week: the White Rann of Kutch, a salt desert that turns silver under a full moon; Gir, the only place on earth with wild Asiatic lions; and the temple towns of Somnath and Dwarka on the Saurashtra coast. We time the Kutch leg to a full moon wherever your dates allow, and the handicraft villages around Bhuj are worth a day on their own.
