8 Days Arunachal: Tawang, Sela Pass & Bomdila

Tawang monastery and Sela Pass

Overview

This is the most remote trip we run, and the one regular travellers ask for once they have done the rest of the Northeast. The road to Tawang climbs over Sela Pass at 13,700 ft, past Paradise Lake and the Jaswant Garh memorial, and finishes at a monastery complex founded in the 1680s that is still the largest in India. Distances are long and the roads are mountain roads, so we keep the group small and the driving days sensible. Inner Line Permits are arranged for you — send scanned ID at least two weeks ahead.
